A Mountain Wedding

We have had several years without any weddings to attend, but this summer we’ve had two. Interestingly enough both weddings were right outside West Jefferson—about the farthest we could drive from the beach and still be in NC! But… like the other wedding, it was one we wouldn’t miss!

Kathryn is indeed one of my best friends from high school. She was a bridesmaid in our wedding, and although we don’t keep in touch nearly as well as we used to, we were certainly thrilled to get to celebrate with her today!

The weather was rainy off and on all day but it ended up clearing for their beautiful outdoor wedding and reception at a friends farm. It really was beautiful.

The girls were a little wiggly during the wedding, but we managed to keep them quiet. And since it was a 5:00 wedding, by the time we were headed to the reception they were ready to eat!

It’s time to eat!?!? Audrey has the silliest “surprise” face lately!

Somehow Madeline’s water glass turned into her wildflower bouquet vase, but it kept her happy, so all was well.

The girls stayed entertained with all the fun things to see around the farm: the mules, the bee hives, the apple trees, and grape vines—lots to look at, that’s for sure. Madeline ran down the hill at one point and almost fell in a huge pile of cow poop, no kidding she missed it by like 3 inches! (I sure thought of you at that moment, Rachel! Ahh… sister stories that live on, no matter how many years go by!!)

And of course, Madeline had fun dancing with her daddy!

We were so glad to get to enjoy the evening celebrating with Kathryn and Clint. It was a wonderful wedding and we hope to get to catch up more with them soon on one of our trips to Raleigh!
