Somehow we always come upon some good “creature” fun when we are with the Raynors. As Uncle Brian was cleaning out the pond at their house this weekend, Madeline opened the pump box and jumped about 100 ft in the air when she saw three toads looking back at her.
After Aunt Rachel’s snake in the pond incident last year, she happily stayed on the deck with her camera and let me catch the toads for the kids to play with.
All the kids reacted differently: Audrey screamed like a girl, Lucas could have cared less, Isaac was just an observer, and Madeline was all about the toad!
I ended up catching two out of the pond box, they were pretty big guys, definitely the biggest toad I have ever caught.
After we let the frogs jump back in, the kids were pretty set on catching something else. It kept them busy for awhile and luckily we didn’t have to fish any of them out of the pond.
Nothing like a good afternoon playing with nature!
