After Wednesday night's Chinese themed dinner that the girls put together, the guys knew they had to step up to the challenge and I must say they did AWESOME!! Maybe it was the fact that I didn't have to cook or clean up at all, but it was some good food.
As a reminder, the guys ingredients were: pork, cauliflower, rice, and a chocolate dessert. Their menu ended up as Mexican Pork Meatballs, Cauliflower w/ Corn Relish, Black Beans and Rice, Chips and Salsa, Homemade Guacamole, and Chocolate Truffles for dessert.
Although we were a little worried, the meal was great!
We were supposed to declare a winner, but we could not! There were definitely parts of each meal that were good. The guys did take worst food item with their homemade chocolate truffles, they weren't all that great although they did a pretty good job masking the bitter chocolate flavor. I'm not sure Brian actually ate any.
The boys did beat us out with presentation points... check out this table set-up! Great use of the sombreros right?!
Here are the video reviews from the evening:
We had a blast with our competition and actually have already decided that we will be doing this again when we get together the week after Christmas. Fun times were had by all and we enjoyed a lot of food we would never have made homemade!
PS... recipes will be posted on my food blog soon if anyone is interested!
